Celebrating:
Worship Services

Services

At West Chester United Methodist Church, we have several worship experiences to meet the needs of today's worshipers.

You are invited to celebrate in any of the following worship experiences:

Traditional - 9:00 AM

9 AM each Sunday we offer a service that builds on the rich tradition of Christian worship and yet speaks to the present day realities of our daily living. This worship service uses music and liturgy from the Christian tradition. The service offers an adult choir which sings weekly, a youth choir that sings twice a monthly, a children's choir that sings once a month, and a bell choir that plays once a month. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. Child care for children up to 5 is offered during this service.

Contemporary - 10:30 AM

10:30 AM each Sunday a contemporary service using more modern music and instruments blending the best of the tradition and more recent forms of worship. Piano, guitar and drums pick up on the modern rhythms of today's society. A blend of modern, gospel and world music rhythms fill the Fiesta Center with praise. Weekly, a celebration music team leads the worship and is joined by a youth and children's choir monthly. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. Child care and Sunday school are offered during this service.

Healing Services

At certain times during the year, Healing Services are incorporated into the Sunday worship services. Individuals, or groups, may also contact Rev. Brooks or Rev. Brubacher to request a special healing service.

The United Methodist Book of Worship describes the purpose of healing services well: "Spiritual healing is God's work of offering persons balance, harmony, and wholeness of body, mind, spirit, and relationships through confession, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Through such healing, God works to bring about reconciliation between God and humanity, among individuals and communities, within each person, and between humanity and the rest of creation" (page 613, The United Methodist Book of Worship).

Preaching Styles
